IIS Application Pools

The following applications pools are used for communications between the central application server for IT Asset Management and the inventory beacon:

  • On the inventory server (or, in smaller implementations, the server hosting this functionality):

    • Flexera Importers is used by the inventory beacon to upload inventory files

    • Flexera Package Repository is used by the inventory beacons to download packages for self update, and for installation of the FlexNet Inventory Agent

  • On the batch server (or, in smaller implementations, the server hosting this functionality):

    • Flexera Beacon is the application pool used for downloading policy files (for the rules that the inventory beacon must apply).
