Assigning a Subnet to a Beacon

You can assign any unassigned subnet to a beacon. Once assigned, the beacon knows the subnet where it should look for target devices to collect Discovery & Inventory information. To assign a subnet to a beacon:

  1. Go to the Unassigned Subnets page.

  2. Select the check box corresponding to the subnet that you wish to assign to a beacon.

  3. Click Assign to a beacon.

    IT Asset Management displays the list of existing beacons.

  4. Select the check box corresponding to the desired beacon and click Save. For more information on beacon properties, see Beacons.

    The selected subnet has been assigned to the selected beacon.
