Assigning Domains

note

The Domain Normalization user interface is not enabled by default. To enable this interface for your organization, contact Flexera Support. For more information, see Contacting Flexera Support.

Consider, for example, that each of the email addresses do belong to the same person named Joe:

  • joe@my-company.com

  • joe@my-org.com

  • joe@my-company.na

  • joe@my-company.eu

In the Domain Normalization user interface, you can assign the my-org.com, my-company.na and my-company.eu domains as children of the my-company.com domain. With this assignment, you are designating my-company.com as a parent domain, and each of the other domains as a child of that parent.

Now, when HR roster data is ingested and all of Joe's email addresses are seen, Flexera One knows to create one unique person for Joe. joe@my-company.com is Joe's primary email and the other email addresses are considered email aliases.
